We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes testing and finessing our beta product, and we’re so excited for you to take it for a spin. For now, here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect.
1. Control Your Privacy from Day One
As you’re setting up your Idly app, you can sync all of your calendars, whether it’s your work calendar on Outlook, your sports calendar on SportsEngine, your personal calendar on iCal or an existing family calendar on Google Calendar. You can also allow your fellow users to add their calendars, too, from the nanny to the carpool collaborators. As you set up your calendar, you can control your settings to show which types of events are hidden and which display all details.
Our aim is to give you complete control, so you no longer have to worry about protected work meetings being displayed to the babysitter, or that mani-pedi you’re looking forward to in three weeks being anyone’s business but yours.
2. Organize By Your Priorities
We’ve pre-loaded Idly with a few custom categories to help you focus on common priorities like work and school, but we want to encourage personalization, too. We’ve added a few suggestions for you, like Gifts & Surprises, based on what we heard from families like yours. But go ahead and add all your biggest hopes and dreams into your categories. Marathon training, ceramics, writing your novel, bouldering—whatever matters to you, we want to make sure Idly makes it top priority!
3. Add Events However You Want
Sure, plenty of people are comfortable manually adding events to a calendar, but Idly is an app for the whole family. Ideally, it’d be easy for people of all technical abilities to add events and participate in family organization. That’s why we’ve added the ability to handwrite events onto the shared calendar, as well as use AI and leave voice notes. So go ahead, empower your kids to scribble in events, or your spouse to shout them into the phone in the car. It’s all about what works for your real life!
4. Check It and Forget It
Looking to spend less time on your calendar app? Us, too! That’s why we created the Daily Forecast email, which sends you a quick morning overview of your whole schedule. No more hectically toggling through events on your smart watch while brushing your teeth! This email makes it easy to see your day at a glance and get going.
